by Julius Karl Reinhold Sturm (1816 - 1896)

Hurrah! ich bin ein Reitersmann
Language: German (Deutsch)
Hurrah! ich bin ein Reitersmann,
ein Rüthlein ist mein Schwert;
so reit' ich durch den grünen Tann
auf flottem Steckenpferd.

Der Wald der ist mein Vaterland,
und wenn ein Feind ihm droht,
halt' ich mit kühnem Muthe Stand
und kämpf' bis auf den Tod.

Und wenn ich erst ein blankes Schwert
im Kampfe schwingen kann,
reit' ich auf meines Vaters Pferd
dem ganzen Heer voran.
