by Joseph Karl Benedikt, Freiherr von Eichendorff (1788 - 1857)

Du sollst mich doch nicht fangen
Language: German (Deutsch)
Du sollst mich doch nicht fangen,
duftschwüle Zaubernacht.
Es steh'n mit goldnem Prangen,
die Stern auf stiller Wacht.
Und machen überm Grunde
wo du verirret bist,
getreu die alte Runde.
Gelobt sei Jesus Christ!

Wie bald in allem Bäumen
Geht nun die Morgenluft,
sie schütteln sich in Träumen,
und durch den roten Duft
eine fromme Lerche steiget,
wenn alles still noch ist,
den rechten Weg dir zeiget.
Gelobt sei Jesus Christ!
