Die Erschaffung des Hafis

Ihr habt kein Recht, verdammend über mich zu sprechen.
Ich bin frei von aller Schuld. Hört zu, wie Allah mich geschaffen hat.
Er knetete den Staub, draus er mich schuf mit Wasser nicht, wie euren Staub,
- o nein mit purem Wein hat ihn der Gott befeuchtet.
Wenn dieser edle Erdenkloss nun trocknet, meint ihr denn wirklich,
dass er sich das Nass, das fade Nass des Brunnens bieten liesse?
Wein tut ihm not! Nur Wein ist seiner würdig,
denn purer Wein fliesst in ihm, seit er ward!
