by Johann Martin Hutterus (1810 - 1865)

Du bist wie eine wilde Rose
Language: German (Deutsch)
Du bist wie eine wilde Rose,
so düftevoll, so dornenreich;
ob ich dir zürne, mit dir kose,
mein Leid und meine Lust zugleich.

Ich fliehe dich zu dieser Stunde
und kann doch ohne dich nicht sein;
ich grolle dir und unserm Bunde,
es liebt sich wohl nicht ohne Leid.

O Liebchen, laß uns Frieden schliessen,
das Leben ist voll Kampf und Streit,
und macht genug der Tränen fliessen,
es liebt sich wohl nicht ohne Leid.
