Heilig ist die Jugendzeit! Treten wir in Tempelhallen, Wo in düstrer Einsamkeit Dumpf die Tritte widerschallen! Edler Geist des Ernstes soll Sich in Jünglingsseelen senken, Jede still und andachtsvoll Ihrer heil'gen Kraft gedenken. Gehn wir ins Gefild hervor, Das sich stolz dem Himmel zeiget, Der so feierlich empor Überm Erdenfrühling steiget! Eine Welt voll Fruchtbarkeit Wird aus dieser Blüte brechen. Heilig ist die Frühlingszeit, Soll an Jünglingsseelen sprechen! Fasset die Pokale nur! Seht ihr nicht so purpurn blinken Blut der üppigen Natur? Laßt uns hohen Mutes trinken! Daß sich eine Feuerkraft Selig in der andern fühle. Heilig ist der Rebensaft, Ist des Jugendschwungs Gespiele! Seht das holde Mädchen hier! Sie entfaltet sich im Spiele; Eine Welt erblüht in ihr Zarter, himmlischer Gefühle. Sie gedeiht im Sonnenschein, Unsre Kraft in Sturm und Regen. Heilig soll das Mädchen sein, Denn wir reifen uns entgegen! Darum geht in Tempel ein, Edeln Ernst in euch zu saugen; Stärkt an Frühling euch und Wein, Sonnet euch an schönen Augen! Jugend, Frühling, Festpokal, Mädchen in der holden Blüte, Heilig sei'n sie allzumal Unsrem ernsteren Gemüte!

La saison du printemps est sacrée Et doit parler à l'âme des jeunes hommes ! Saisissez les coupes ! Ne voyez-vous pas l'éclat si pourpre Du sang de l'exubérante nature ? Buvons d'un cœur vaillant ! Que celui-ci ressente pieusement Le feu puissant de l'autre. Le jus de la treille est sacré, Il accompagne la vivacité de la jeunesse ! Voyez là cette gracieuse jeune fille ! Elle s'épanouit dans le jeu ! En elle fleurit un monde De sentiments délicats, célestes. Elle prospère au soleil Comme notre force dans la tempête et la pluie. La jeune fille doit être sacrée Car nous mûrissons à notre rencontre ! Alors entrez dans le temple Pour vous abreuver d'une noble gravité ; Fortifiez-vous de printemps et de vin, Baignez-vous au soleil de beaux yeux ! Jeunesse, printemps, coupe de fête, Jeune fille en gracieuses fleurs, Soyez tous sacrés Pour nos esprits plus sérieux !
