El planter ja s’amolla i creix cap amunt, allà oscil·len les campànules, blanques com la neu; el safrà desplega la seva vermellor de foc, tot brosta de color maragda i vermell com la sang. Les prímules gallardegen tan impertinents, les violetes sornegueres s’amaguen amb eficàcia; també tot altri branda i es belluga, prou! És la primavera que actua i viu. Però el que al jardí floreix més abundantment és l’adorable ànim de la meva estimada. Allà sempre em fulguren els seus esguards, els seus commovedors cants, les seves alegres paraules. Un cor florit, sempre obert, amical en la seriositat i pur en la plagasitat. Per bé que l’estiu porti roses i lliris, rivalitza endebades amb la meva estimada.
