Der Mond nimmt zu, die Sichel schwebt
Language: German (Deutsch)
Our translations:  CAT ENG
Der Mond nimmt zu, die Sichel schwebt,
Die Nacht ist bläulich helle,
Es fluthet um mich her und webt
Thaufeuchten Lichtes Welle.

Folgt Manches meinen Wegen.
Nimm zu, mein Glück!

Umfeie mich mit Zauberdunst,
Daß walten kann mein Wille,
Und halte mich in Schutz und Gunst,
Gutfreund, ich schweige stille.
Nimm zu, mein Glück!

The moon is waxing
Language: English  after the German (Deutsch)
The moon is waxing, the crescent hovers,
The night is bright with a blue light,
About me flows and weaves
A wave of dew-wet light.
Wax [too], my good fortune!

[The moon] cools the heart and nourishes the blood
And creates healthy juices,
Pours guile and courage into the soul
And effects secret powers.
Wax, my good fortune!

The power of the word and of musical sounds
Springs forth for me from [the moon’s] blessing,
And snugly in the night lit by the full moon
Many things follow my pathways.
Wax, my good fortune!

Surround me with the shelter of your magical mist,
So that my will may prevail,
And hold me in protection and favour,
Good friend, I shall be silent.
Wax, my good fortune!
