Liebe mich ‑‑ ich küß' dich wach!
Language: German (Deutsch)
Available translation(s): ENG
Liebe mich -- ich küß' dich wach!
Zu der Knospe das Lüftchen sprach.
Knospe sagte nicht nein, nicht ja, --
Doch sie wußt' nicht, wie ihr geschah.
Wie ein seliges Wonnemeer
Wogte das Lüftchen um sie her;
Küßte [ihr]1 kosend jedes Blatt,
Wurde nimmer des Küssens satt;
Koste so lange, ward nimmer müd', --
Bis die Knospe in Lieb erblüht!

Love me
Language: English  after the German (Deutsch)
Love me -- I shall kiss you awake!
The little breeze said to the bud.
The bud said neither yea nor nay, --
But she knew not what was happening to her.
Like a blissful sea of delight
The little breeze wafted about her;
Caressingly it kissed every one of her petals,
It never tired of kissing;
It caressed so long, it tired not, --
Till finally the bud blossomed with love!
