Dämmerempfindung
Language: German (Deutsch)
Our translations:  FRE
Was treibt mich [hier]1 von hinnen?
  Was lockt mich dort geheimnisvoll?
Was ist's, das ich gewinnen,
Und was, womit ich's kaufen soll?

Trat unsichtbar mein Erbe,
Ein Geist, ein luft'ger, schon heran,
Und drängt mich, daß ich sterbe,
Weil er nicht eher leben kann?

Und winkt mir aus der Ferne
Die Traube schon, die mir gereift
Auf einem andern Sterne,
Und will, daß meine Hand sie streift?

Sentiment au crépuscule
Language: French (Français)  after the German (Deutsch)
Qu'est-ce là qui me pousse à partir d'ici ?
Qu'est-ce qui m'attire secrètement là-bas ?
Qu'est ce que je veux obtenir,
Et avec quoi devrais le payer ?

Mon héritier avance-t-il invisible,
Fantôme éthéré, déjà par ici,
Et me pousse-t-il vers la mort,
Car il ne peut vivre avant ?

Et me montre-t-il de loin
La grappe déjà mûrie pour moi
Sur une autre étoile,
Et veut-il que ma main l'égrène ?
