Quand Amour incline les beaux yeux de Laure vers la terre,
et rassemblant dans sa main en un seul soupir
ses esprits errants, les transforme en une voix
claire, suave, angélique, divine,

Je sens faire à mon cœur une douce violence,
et mes pensées et mes désirs se changer tellement en dedans de moi,
que je dis : Vienne maintenant mon heure dernière,
puisque le ciel me destine une mort si noble.

Mais le bruit des soupirs et des paroles de Laure, qui enchaîne les sens par sa douceur,
retient l’âme au moment où elle est prête à partir,
par le grand désir qu’elle a d’écouter ce qui la rend heureuse.

C’est ainsi que je continue à vivre ; ainsi se déroule et s’étend
