Advent
Language: Swedish (Svenska)
Our translations:  GER
Sions dotter, lyft din panna:
himmelriket är dig när!
Jubla högt ditt Hosianna,
se, din konung nu är här!
Gud sin Son till jorden sänt,
fröjda dig, det är advent!

Kom med famnen full av palmer,
låt ditt hjärta vidga sig!
Kom med sånger, kom med psalmer,
ärans Konung möter dig!
Salighetens dag han tänt,
fröjda dig, det är advent!

Sions jubel kan ej stanna,
liksom stora vattens dån
ljuder evigt: Hosianna,
Hosianna, Davids Son!
Sådan fröjd ej världen känt -
fröjda dig, det är advent!

Advent
Language: German (Deutsch)  after the Swedish (Svenska)
Tochter Zion, blick nach oben:
Gottes Rettung ist dir nah!
„Hosianna“ sei dein Loben -
sieh, dein König ist nun da!
Heiland ihn die Menschheit nennt,
freue dich, es ist Advent!

Komm mit Armen voller Palmen,
öffne ihm dein Herze weit!
Komm mit Liedern, komm mit Psalmen,
triff den Herrn der Herrlichkeit!
Licht des Heils der Menschheit brennt,
freue dich, es ist Advent!

Zion will vor Freude singen
ewig, hoch im Jubelton:
Hosianna soll erklingen,
Hosianna, Davids Sohn!
Solche Freud die Welt nicht kennt -
freue dich, es ist Advent!

Notes (provided by Bertram Kottmann):
Line 1-1: "Zion" - Metapher für Jerusalem
Line 1-3: "Hosianna" - aus dem Hebräischen „hôshia-nā“, einer Bitte um Rettung
