Zwischen mir und dem ewigen Licht
Gütig ein Sturm die grauen Nebel verweht!
Fremdes Land umgibt mich,
Losgerissen treibt von der Heimat fern
Mich des Schicksals mächtige Woge umher.
Jage die Wolken, Föhn,
Reiße die Schleier hinweg,

Poussé par un violent foehn
Je fuis d'un pas infatigable
Dans une vie couverte de nuages.
Ô puisse pour un instant seulement
Qu'entre moi et la lumière éternelle
Une bienveillante tempête chasse les nuées grises !
Je suis au milieu d'un pays étranger,
Arraché loin de ma patrie, je suis poussé
Ici par la puissante vague du destin.
Foehn, chasse les nuages,
Déchire le voile
Afin que la lumière tombe sur mes chemins hésitants !
