Herüber duftet aus der Jugendzeit

Doch hab ich nie so tief wie jetzt im Leid
Geliebter Dichtung innigen Wert empfunden.

Aus kühlen Grotten ruft mir Blütenglut
Und süße Leidenschaft ihr Lied ins Herz,
Und heilig wird, was sonst so wehe tut;
Die Dichtung winkt, und lächeln lernt der Schmerz.

Depuis ma jeunesse flotte le parfum

La valeur intime de la chère poésie.

Des grottes fraîches l'éclat des fleurs
