Levkoyen und Reseden

Language: German (Deutsch)

Auf dem Tisch ein kleiner Strauß
Von Levkoyen und Reseden
Lockt mein Sinnen weit hinaus
Aus der Stadt nach fernen Beeten.

Beeten, die voll Veilchen sind,
Von Syringen überhangen;
Und ein blondes Nachbarkind
Kommt den Zaun entlang gegangen.

Nahe ist ein Brunnen laut,
Tief in seinen Mauern schäumend,
Und ein Flug im Bienenkraut.
Sonst ist alles stumm und träumend.

Aller Friede, der mir fehlt,
Den ich zwischen Städtemauern
Früh verlor im Kampf ums Geld,
Schlummert dort und macht mich trauern.

Giroflées et résédas

Language: French (Français) after the German (Deutsch)

Sur la table un petit bouquet
De giroflées et résédas
Attirent mes sens à l'extérieur
De la ville vers de lointains parterres.

Des parterres plein de violettes,
Coiffées de lilas;
Et un enfant blond du voisinage
Approche de la clôture.

À proximité on entend une fontaine
Écumer au fond de ses murs,
Et un essaim dans les consoudes.
Sinon tout se tait et rêve.

Toute la paix qui me fait défaut,
Qu'entre les murs de la ville
J'ai jadis perdue à courir après l'argent,
Sommeille là-bas et me rend triste.
