Geschlechter kommen, Geschlechter vergehn,
sie ziehen vorbei wie Schäume,
sterben, verschwinden, erlöschen - trotzdem
bleiben die lockenden Träume:
Sie leben im Sturm, im Sonnlicht, im Leid,
dämmern und müssen abtreten,
erstehen aufs Neu in leuchtendem Kleid,
in ihre Spuren zu treten.
Wie sie auch kommen und wie sie auch gehn,
vorbeiziehn wie schöne Schäume,
wie sie verschwinden, erlöschen, trotzdem
leben sie ewig, die Träume.
