Morgengruss
Language: German (Deutsch)
Ihr Vögelein,
so zart und fein,
was singet ihr
zum Morgen mir?

„Wir singen dir
von uns'rer Zier,
vom [Sangesschall]1
der Nachtigall;

vom kühlen Hain,
vom Quell so rein,
vom Blümlein blau
auf grüner Au,

auch singen wir
von Nächten dir,
wie da sich's ruht
in Liebesglut

und wie es sei
dem Vöglein frei
in reiner Luft
und süßem Duft.“

Dank, Vögelein,
so zart und fein,
schön singet ihr
zum Morgen mir.
