Silueta
Language: Spanish (Español)
Our translations:  ENG
Costeando la acequia
La dejo alegre ir
A la sombra del monte
Por delante de mi.

La canastilla al brazo
Va recogiendo a si
Helechos delicados
Y flores de rubi.

Refleja el agua
Trémula en la sombra al huir
Como un albor de luna
Su veste de clarin

A su paso la acequia
Huele a menta y anis
Y zumba en retamas
Fugaz el colibri.

¡Como va de ligera
La silueta gentil
Recogiendo las galas
Del agreste jardin

Y mientras ella alegre rie
Y canta feliz
Yo la miro en silencio
Sin saber qué decir.

Silhouette
Language: English  after the Spanish (Español)
Avoiding the ditch
I let her happily go
In the shade of the mountain
In front of me.

The little basket in her arms,
She goes gathering such
Delicate ferns
And ruby flowers.

The water reflects,
Trembling in the shade at fleeing,
Like a moonrise
Her bugler’s garb.

At her step the ditch
Smells of mint and anise,
And buzzing in the broom bushes
Fleeting (is) the hummingbird.

As she goes lightly,
The gentle silhouette,
Gathering the gifts/finery
From the wild garden.

And while she joyfully laughs
And sings happily,
I look at her in silence
Without knowing what to say.
