Ó zlatá růže, spanilá
Language: Czech (Čeština)
Available translation(s): ENG
Ó zlatá růže, spanilá,
Jak jara zjevy ranní,
Ty's bol mi sladký vkouzlila
V mé celé žití, ždání.
Ta všecka Tvoje spanilosť
Se v hruď mi zakotvila,
Že jsem se dal Ti na milosť,
By's rány vyhojila.
A Ty v své lásce horoucí
Mě jak sfinx objala jsi:
A v moje srdce práhnoucí
Trn nový vrazila jsi.

O my wonderful, golden rose
Language: English  after the Czech (Čeština)
O my wonderful, golden rose,
morning’s harbinger of spring,
your bitter-sweet pain enthralls
my whole life, my desiring.
With all your lovely gracefulness
you dwell firmly in my breast,
I’m beholden to your goodness;
all ills shall heal at your behest.
Now, with a fond loving passion,
like a sphinx you embrace me,
yet you pierce with a new thorn
my heart that pines so badly.
