La fiesta de la primavera

 ¡Éste es el triste placer de la primavera!
 Las florecientes muchachas, en salvaje comitiva,
 irrumpen con los cabellos revueltos
 aullando de dolor y con el pecho desnudo:
 "¡Adonis ¡Adonis!"

 Cae la noche. A la luz de las antorchas
 buscan por todas partes en el bosque,
 que, confuso de terror, resuena
 entre llantos y risas, suspiros y gritos:
 "¡Adonis ¡Adonis!"

 El hermosísimo  joven,
 está tendido en el suelo, pálido y muerto.
 La sangre tiñe todas las flores de rojo,
 y un sonido lastimero llena el aire:
 "¡Adonis ¡Adonis!"
