ora accogli l'ultimo saluto di partenza.

quindi non posso esserlo al momento del commiato.

Addio, alberi, giardini così verdi, addio!
Ora cavalco lungo il fiume d'argento,
lontana risuona l'eco del mio canto d'addio;
mai avete sentito una canzone triste,
non ne avrete neanche al momento del commiato.

Addio, fanciulle amabili, addio!
Perché vi affacciate dalla casa profumata di fiori
coi vostri sguardi maliziosi e seducenti?
Come al solito, io saluto e mi guardo intorno,
ma non girerò il mio cavallino.

Addio, caro sole, tu vai a riposare, addio!
