All deine Liebe lieb Kindlein ihm gib.
Nun schlafe!

Sleep my child and lie down to rest
Language: English  after the German (Deutsch)
Sleep my child and lie down to rest.
Close your dear eyes, you are my angel!
The lambs are already sleeping on the pastures!
Outside, the storm-wind is bluestering so wildly!
Only sleep, my darling, on your faithful mother's breast!
Angels rejoice for your heavenly delight!
Have Grandfather's noble and loving spirit!
And only become like him! Since you are also called Felix!
Sleep my child and only dream sweetly!
Of golden flowers in paradise!
And do you see the stars on the heavenly sea?
They are twinkling so quietly and peacefully at you.
They are the eyes of all our loved ones
Who once lived with us in this earthly vale!
Grandfather waves to you from the stars!
And rocks you to rest with greetings and kisses!
You, too, sing a beautiful song as once he did!
And you, too, become a "star" like he was!
Oh sing [the song] only as he with heart and mind[,]
Then he shall lovingly stretch his hand out to you.
Only gaze upward and love him dearly!
Dear child, give him all of your love.
Now sleep! You are also his darling!
Therefore he sings you a song from the stars.
