War einmal ein armer Wicht, die er liebte, die liebt' ihn nicht. Bring das Herz mir, sprach ihr Mund deiner Mutter für meinen Hund! Und die Mutter erschlägt der Sohn nimmt ihr Herz und läuft davon. Da er lief, da fiel der Knab' rollt das Herz in den Staub hinab. Da das Herz im Staube liegt, hört der Knabe, wie es spricht. Weinend fragt das Herz geschwind: Hast dir weh gethan, mein Kind?
