Es singt ein Vögelein, ,,witt, witt, witt, Komm mit, komm mit!" O könnt' ich Vögelein, mit dir ziehn, Wir wollten über die Berge fliehn, Durch die blauen, schönen Lüfte zumal, Uns baden im warmen Sonnenstrahl. Die Erd' ist eng, der Himmel weit; Die Erd' ist arm, hat nichts als Leid; Der Himmel ist reich, hat nichts, als Freud'. Das Vögelein hat sich geschwungen schon Durchwirbelnd die Luft mit süßem Ton, O Vögelein, daß dich Gott behüt'! Da sitz' ich am Ufer und kann nicht mit.
