Note: Josquin des Prez used the melody of an old song "J'ay pris amours" for his motet. Its text is:

J'ay pris amours à ma devise
pour conquérir joyeuseté.
Heureux seray en ceste esté
se puis venir à mon emprise [entreprise]
1 in the first verse, the first line is sung simultaneously with "Salvator noster" (Our saviour).
