Der Garten ist lange verblüht,
Man hört nur flüsternd die Blätter fallen,
Die Erde schläfert -- ich bin so müd.

Es schüttelt die welken Blätter der Wald,
Mich friert, ich bin schon alt,
Bald kommt der Winter und fällt der Schnee,
Bedeckt den Garten und mich und alles, alles Weh.
