seine Lande geweitet, gestärkt seine Macht. 
Und die Ritter begehen's, er stimmet mit ein, 
fortan unter Königen König zu sein.

Und die weihende Krone hab' ich ihm gemacht, 
du zogst das Metall aus der heiligen Nacht; 
komm, Alter, nun ist uns das Schauen erlaubt, 
heut setzet er selbst sich den Schmuck auf das Haupt."

Und ich sah ihn gekränzt mit dem leuchtenden 
Gold, seine Rechte erhob er wie freudig und 
hold, und er schwur sich uns zu mit dem teuersten Eid, 
unser König zu bleiben in Freud und in Leid.

Zu Berge! Glück auf! zu Berge mit Lust, 
Gott segne den König! durchhallet die Brust, 
In die Schachte nun fahr' ich so freudiger ein, 
das Land ist des Königs, die Berge sind dein.

E la corona che lo consacra, gliel'ho fatta io,
tu hai estratto il metallo nella notte santa;
vieni, vecchio, ora ci è permesso guardare,
oggi egli stesso si porrà il gioiello sul capo."
 
E io lo vidi incoronato con l'oro lucente,
alzava la destra con gioia
e bontà, e faceva solenne giuramento
di restare nostro re nella gioia e nel dolore.
 
Ai monti! Esultate! Ai monti con gioia,
Dio benedica il re! Cantate con tutto il cuore,
Nella miniera ora vado ancora più felice,
il paese è del re, i monti sono suoi.
