 sans amertume ; pure et véritable,
 doux Jésus, elle est en toi.

 Au milieu des peines et des tourments
 vit l'âme satisfaite,
 dans le seul espoir de l'amour pur

 Le monde trompe les yeux avec une couleur séduisante;
 mais épuise les cœurs avec une blessure cachée.
 fuyons quand il rit,
 enfuyons-nous quand il nous poursuit
 en montrant ses délices ;
 il veut en jouant avec un art tranquille triompher.

 Le serpent souffle au milieu des fleurs
 et cache son venin en déployant ses couleurs. 

 Mais touché par une bouche muette,
 l'homme, fou d'amour,
 souvent l'embrasse comme il lècherait du miel.
