Ob der Koran von Ewigkeit sei?
Language: German (Deutsch)
Our translations:  CAT ENG FRE ITA
Ob der Koran von Ewigkeit sei?
Darnach frag ich nicht!
Ob der Koran geschaffen sei?
Das weiß ich nicht!
Daß er das Buch der Bücher sei,
Glaub ich aus Mosleminenpflicht.
Daß aber der Wein von Ewigkeit sei,
Daran zweifl' ich nicht;
Oder daß er vor den Engeln geschaffen sei,
Ist vielleicht auch kein Gedicht.
Der Trinkende, wie es auch immer sei,
Blickt Gott frischer ins Angesicht.

Se il Corano sia eterno
Language: Italian (Italiano)  after the German (Deutsch)
Se il Corano sia eterno?
Questo non lo domando!
Se il Corano sia stato creato?
Non posso proprio saperlo!
Che esso sia il Libro dei Libri
Lo credo per dovere di Musulmano.
Ma che il vino sia eterno
di questo sono certo;
E che sia stato creato prima degli angeli
forse non è una favola.
Il bevitore, comunque sia,
guarda Dio in faccia più intensamente.
