Liebeszuruf
Language: German (Deutsch)
Der freche Tag ist hingegangen,
Verschämt der Abend niedersinkt,
Wo, stille Küsse zu empfangen,
Mir die verschämte Liebe winkt.

Gemach! - Bald webt die Dämmrung dichter
Sich über Flur und Straße hin -
Daß nicht die gaffenden Gesichter
In ihrer Neugier Netz uns zieh'n!

Wie viel der Himmel Gutes spendet,
Das Schönste doch ist, was, in Nacht
Verhüllet, seine Huld uns sendet,
Wenn uns beglückte Liebe lacht.

Zur duftenden Holunderstätte
Im Gärtchen winkt die kleine Tür;
Und, o willkomm! die blonde Nette
Huscht schon hervor und späht nach mir.

Mein Abendstern ist angebrochen;
Was kümmert der dort oben mich?
Wohlauf mein Herz mit frohem Pochen!
Die Liebe selber leitet dich.
