by Paul Harel (1854 - 1927)

Les larmes
Language: French (Français)
On ne les a pas soupçonnées
Les larmes qui brûlaient mes yeux.
Filles d’un mal silencieux
Et de mes plus tristes années,
On ne les a pas soupçonnées.

Durant les banales journées,
J’ai combattu sans me lasser.
Mais les larmes qu’on peut verser
Quand les têtes sont détournées,
On ne les a pas soupçonnées.

Les radieuses matinées
Ont fait place à la sombre nuit,
Et les larmes tombant sans bruit,
Sur mes espérances fanées,
On ne les a pas soupçonnées !
