The splendour of the morn
Language: English
Awake to the glory of the morn,
Awake to the gladness of the day –
Throstles singing on the thorn –
Red roses gleaming o’er the way!
Life is here with all its sweetness,
Full of dear and deep delight,
Brush aside your tears and troubles –
Let them pass away with night.

Away with sorrow, away with care,
Take the roses and leave the rue,
	There is gladness everywhere
	Waiting for me and you.

Awake to the glory of the morn,
Awake to the sunbeams dancing gay,
Life is not a waste forlorn -
For tears God never sent the day!
Never heed the clouds that darken –
Thro’ your life let sunshine play,
Make the most of love and laughter –
Life too soon will pass away!

Away with sorrow, away with care,
Take the roses and leave the rue,
	There is gladness everywhere
	Waiting for me and you.
