Romance du Grand‑père, ou les deus ages

T’en souviens t’il au coin du feu
Nous lisions ce Gesner si tendre,
pour lui je laissais la le jeu
et j’oubliais tout pour l’entendre.
Ce maudit Caïn si méchant
me mettait sans cesse en colère,
mais je trouvais Abel charmant
je croyais voir en lui mon frère.

Par courant d’un œil curieux
les estampes de cet ouvrage,
une entr’autre me plaisait mieux
de Thirsa j’y voyais l’Image.
J’y retrouvais le sentiment
l’espirit la grace naturelle,
enfin dans ce portrait charmant
je croyais revoir mon Adèle.
