Si lo quisiera Dios
Language: Spanish (Español)
Our translations:  ENG
El tierno amor que me juraste ayer
que pronto se acabó
duró lo que la gota nocturnal
que seca luego al sol.
Si volviera a sentirte junto a mi
temblando de pasión
si lo ordenara mi destino cruel
si lo quisiera Dios!

Era tan dulce el néctar ideal
de tus besos de amor
había en tu mirada de cristal
tan suave resplandor
pero aquel bello tiempo que se fué
no sé si volverá
si lo quisiera la piedad de Dios
pero Dios nol’ querrá!

If God willed it
Language: English  after the Spanish (Español)
The tender love you swore to me yesterday
which quickly ended
lasted [as] the nighttime bead [of dew]
which dries up later in the sun.
If I returned to feel you
trembling with passion together with me
if my cruel destiny ordained it,
if God willed it!

The perfect nectar from your kisses of love
was so sweet,
there was in your crystal gaze
such a soft radiance
but that beautiful time that was,
I do not know if it will return
if the mercy of God willed it,
but God will not!
