Lied der Dame aus der Provence
Language: German (Deutsch)
Warum, Herz, lässt selbst die Liebe
dich so einsam und verlassen?
Scheint nur dir der Himmel trübe,
kann der Gram die Freude hassen?
Ach, ich Arme!

Wie in unbewölkten Lüften
doch den Sturm der Vogel kündet,
fühlt mein Herz in Frühlingsdüften,
dass die Hoffnung ihm entschwindet.
Ach, ich Arme!

Fröhlich, Laute, sollst du tönen,
sei'n es auch die letzten Laute;
doch auch du willst mich verhöhnen,
meine einzige Vertraute?
Ach, ich Arme!

Trauriger stets klingt die Saite,
freudig will sie mir nicht tönen.
Kann nur dumpfes Grabgeläute
meinen müden Geist versöhnen?
Ach, ich Arme!
