Lied
Language: German (Deutsch)
Es glänzt das Gras im hellen Thau,
  Der Thau im Abendgold,
Der Weide Kätzchen schimmern grau,
  Das Bächlein murmelt hold.

Die Berge stehn im weißen Hut,
  Fern prangt der blaue Wald,
Auf weiten Feldern wohlgemuth
  Der Lerche Wirbeln schallt.

Du wache Herz, o schlummre nicht,
  Wenn auch die Glocke tönt,
Die Firnen glänzen noch so licht
  Vom Abendstrahl gekrönt.

Wie herrlich prangt des Himmels Thor!
  Die Rosenwölkchen ziehn
Wie heil'ge Lämmer still davor --
Sie treten vor -- und fliehn.

Du trauerst Herz? O traure nicht!
  Das Dunkel wird vergehn,
Das glorienvolle Sonnenlicht
  In neuem Glanz erstehn.

Confirmed with Jahreszeiten, herausgegeben von Oswald Marbach, Frühling, 1840. Zweiter Jahrgang, Leipzig, J. S. Hinrichsche Buchhandlung, pages 225-226, in Verszeilen im Frühlinge. Von Alexander Fischer, no. 11.
