by Juan Federico Muntadas (1826 - 1912)

El oasis
Language: Spanish (Español)
Mira Zulica, daga traidora
De tu tirano, rasgó las venas,
Libre y en brazos del que te adora,
Descansa oh! bella, descansa fiel.
Presto sigamos, cruzando arenas
Presto, Zulica sobre el corcel.

En el desierto, hay una palma
Y un arroyuelo puro y tranquilo,
Por cuya orilla, de eterna calma
Vuela el perfume, de oculta flor.
Tras esas dunas, secreto, asilo
Prepara un numen, a nuestro amor.

El país confusamente,
Como el agua de un torrente
Pasa y corre mas y mas.
Muy lijero, dueño mío,
Va el bridón en que confio!
Aun el viento deja atras.

La vil sombra del tirano
Alcanzar pretende en vano
A mi potro corredor.
A lo lejos, se alza erguida
La palmera apetecida:
Nos salvamos, dulce amor!
