by Gabriel Scott (1874 - 1958)

Kirsten Jordbærpike
Language: Norwegian (Bokmål)
Og Kirsten jordbærpike
hun vimser rundt i byen
med blanke sisik-øyne
og nesen opp i skyen.
Og alle som hun møter,
de tenker: «Kjœre vene» —
og stanser opp og undres:
«Hvem er den lille, pene?»

Og Kirsten, hun har œrend,
i hundrede butikker,
og alle som hun møter,
de vender seg og kikker.
Ja, prest og prost og klokker,
de glemmer middagsmate -
det er jo rent som Kirsten
forgyller hele gaten!

Og Kirsten går og vifter
i veien så det støver,
for Kirsten, hun har travelt,
for Kirsten går og prøver.
Og bakom alle ruter
står rynkede morliller
og glor på vesle Kirsten
med store, runde briller.
