by Gustav Steinacker (1809 - 1877)

Überall du!
Language: German (Deutsch)
Wenn mich der dunkle Schacht
schauriger Mitternacht
einsam umschließt,
bin ich doch nie allein,
denk' ja, Geliebte, dein,
die mir der Liebe Pein
schmerzlich versüßt.

Schweift auch von fernem Strand
weithin zum Jugendland
sehnend der Blick,
ist doch mein Geist dir nah';
ach, an der Stelle, da
liebend das Aug' dich sah,
blieb er zurück!

Du blickst im Morgenschein;
bricht dann der Abend ein,
winkst du mir zu.
Du in des Tages Glut,
du in des Baches Flut,
du in der Stürme Wut,
überall du!

Weckst mich im Lerchensang,
und deines Namens Klang
lallt mich zur Ruh';
Ach, jenes süße Bild,
das mir so hehr und mild
leuchtend die Seele füllt,
Teure, bist du!
