Der Sternenkranz
Language: German (Deutsch)
Was darf sich wohl dem Wort vergleichen,
dem süßen, heil'gen Mutterwort?
So weit Natur und Menschheit reichen,
erklingt's, ein milder Welt-Akkord!
Doch dreimal höher muss es tönen,
da nun, zum schönsten Bund vereint,
von Tochter und von ihren Söhnen
die Mutter treu umringt erscheint.

So wallt in jenen Himmelsfernen
mit sanftem Licht der holde Mond,
umgeben mit dem Kranz von Sternen,
am unbewölkten Horizont.
Und wie die Sterne sich entzücken
am reinen, lichten Mondenblick,
so strahlt aus deinen Mutterblicken
allein auch deiner Kinder Glück.
