by Friedrich Hermann Frey (1839 - 1911), as Martin Greif

Der Knabe aus Tirol
Language: German (Deutsch)
Du kamst so frisch und fröhlich noch
dort aus den Bergen her;
was machte dir so balde doch
dein armes Herz so schwer?
Fahr' wohl, fahr' wohl, fahr' ewig wohl,
du schöner Knabe aus Tirol!

Ich bin so gern an deinem Grab,
ich war dir immer gut,
und wenn ich's dir verheimlicht hab' -
mir fehlte nur der Mut!
Fahr' wohl etc.

Ein Vöglein aus dem Zillertal,
das flog uns gestern zu,
das frägt vom Baum viel tausendmal:
Was macht denn der Hirtenbu?
Fahr' wohl etc.
