wie lacht das Herz mir in der Brust,

Mich drückt kein Kummer bang' und schwer,
d'rum freut mich auch der Wald so sehr.

Eidechslein, die doch gar so klein,
trala, trala, trala,
sie sind so lustig froh im Hain,
trala, trala, trala!
Sie schlüpfen stets mit frohem Sinn
im weichen Grase her und hin,
trala, trala, trala!

Ich munt'res, kleines Bübelein,
trala, trala, trala,
ich soll im Wald nicht fröhlich sein,

Ich soll nicht springen aus dem Haus,
wenn's gilt, zu geh'n zum Wald hinaus?

Die Freude lockt mich überall,
