by Ludwig Gottfried Neumann (1813 - 1865)

Malchens Frühlingslust
Language: German (Deutsch)
Seid willkommen, grüne Höhen,
Vogelsang und Blumenduft!
Sei willkommen, Frühlingswehen,
sei gegrüßt mir, Maienluft!
Gehen möcht' ich gern und weilen,
wandeln überall zugleich,
gern nach allen Orten eilen
in des Lenzes weitem Reich.

Alle Lüfte möcht' ich trinken,
frisch und labend, lau und lind,
auf die Kniee möcht' ich sinken,
rufen laut: Ich glücklich Kind!
Durch die Gegend möcht' ich jagen
über Berg und Tal dahin,
allen Menschen möcht' ich's sagen,
wie ich gar so fröhlich bin!
