Mutterliebe
Language: German (Deutsch)
Herzchen, süßes Herzchen du,
mach die braunen Guckerln zu.
All' die Vöglein in den Zweigen
träumend ihre Köpfchen neigen,
in dem blütenschweren Flieder
haucht der Nachtwind Schlummerlieder,
singt dir flüsternd gute Nacht;
Mutterliebe sorgt und wacht.

An dem Himmel Stern um Stern
glitzert auf aus blauer Fern'.
Durch das Fenster luget einer
in dein Kämmerlein, du Kleiner,
ob du auch zur Ruh' gegangen,
ob der Schlaf dich schon umfangen.
All mein Glück, nun gute Nacht!
Mutterliebe sorgt und wacht.

Weichen Arms umschlungen hält
Nacht und Schweigen rings die Welt,
nur die Nachtigall klagt leise
ihre schmerzenssüße Weise.
Kindchen, schließ die müden Lider,
gold'ner Morgen lacht dir wieder.
Schlumm're sanft, nun gute Nacht!
Mutterliebe sorgt und wacht.
