Die Rose
Language: German (Deutsch)
Rose mit dem Zauberkelche,
Rose du, so zart und mild,
bist in deinem Purpurkleide
reiner Liebe schönes Bild.

Lächelst unter glüh'nden Wangen,
duftest unter Dornen auch,
labst dich an dem Tau des Himmels,
kühlst dich in des Westes Hauch.

Ob du scheidest mit dem Lenze,
ob gebrochen auch dein Herz,
heiter blickst du zu den Sternen,
schwebest lächelnd himmelwärts.

Eine Bitte mir gewähre,
eh' im Moos du sinkst zur Ruh':
Lass mich gleichen dir im Leben,
lass mich sterben so wie du!
