Jag såg en fjäril kring en blomma svärma, 
Som rodnande och blyg på ängen stod.
Han hade eldigt mod och kyssar varma,
Och lilla blomman han i famoen tog. 
Jag vet en blomma jag -- o! fick jag svårma 
Omkring den blomman, liksom han, 
Af hennes kyssars glöd mig sedan värma, 
Tills jag sjelf i hennes famn, i hennes famn förbrann. 

Ack! till den blomman jemt min tanke ilar, 
Dess ljufva bild i drömmen växer opp. 
När i dess öga sig mitt öga hvilar, 
En himmelsk verld då randas för mitt hopp. 
Du blomma, vissna gerna; minnet blommar
Dock evigt, evigt i min själ, ty kärlek är 
Den luft, som andas i din glada sommar; 
Evig trohet är den frukt, den ljufva frukt du bår.
