by Edvard Fredin (1857 - 1891)

Vaggvisa
Language: Swedish (Svenska)
Vyssa, vyssa liten kind,
ute hvinner vintervind
öfver is och öfver drifvor.

Våren kommer dock en gång,
kommer snart med fågelsång,
solig sky och väna vifvor.

Vyssa, vyssa hjärteguld,
mor skall bedja Gud att huld
lyckan han åt far vill råda.

Far i fjärran beder nog
aftonbön i öde skog,
beder nog för sina båda.

Vyssa, vyssa liten vän,
far skall komma snart igen,
kyssa mor och kyssa gossen.

Vyssa, vyssa barnet mitt!
Ute ligger allt så hvitt
under klara stjärneblossen.

Vyssa, vyssa skatten min,
rid i drömmens rike in,
vyssa, vyssa, mor skall vaka.

Dröm att vackra änglar små
vänligt dig till mötes gå
och kom morgnad sen tillbaka.
