Wenn Frühlingswärme mit dem linden Weste,
der kosend um erwachte Knospen webt,
die Brust der jungen Erde schwellend hebt,
verschwenderisch als reich beschenkte Gäste

lädt sie uns ein zu ihrem Liebesfeste.
Und gläubig öffnet sich, an Hoffnung reich,
die Seele, dem erblühten Baume gleich,
der rosig streckt zum Himmel seine Äste.

Dir gilt mein Liebesfest! Du bist [die]1 Sonne,
ein Baum bin ich, der ganz in Knospen glüht
und überschwillt in des Erblühens Wonne,

um in der Liebe Licht [sich]2 einzutauchen,
das lebensspendend dir im Auge sprüht,
wenn deine Lippen Frühlingswärme hauchen.
