Die gnadelos des Friedens Weihe stören,
verbanne alle Wünsche aus der Brust,
willst du das Göttliche, das unbewusst
in deiner Tiefe ruht, heraufbeschwören.

Geheimnisvolle Stimmen wirst du hören,
die leis' erheben mystischen Gesang;
sie tönen, schwellen, steigen, bis ihr Klang
dein Herz erfüllt mit vollen Jubelchören.

So trittst du aus der Straße lautem Treiben
benommen in die Kirche ein. Da quillt
ein gold'nes Dämmerlicht aus Purpurscheiben,

die Wölbung schwebt auf [Orgelfeiertönen]1,
und aus dem Borne der Musik gestillt,
bringst du dich dar zu himmlischem Versöhnen.
