by Luise Elisabeth Bertha Koch (1875 - 1966), as Maidy Koch

Es liegt ein tiefer Frieden
Language: German (Deutsch)
Es liegt ein tiefer Frieden
rings auf dem Land umher,
kaum dass ein Windhauch leise
sich regt im Blätterheer.

Die Abendschatten sinken
und hüllen still mich ein,
nur auf den fernen Höhen
weilt noch ein letzter Schein.

Dort über jenen Bergen
ist meiner Sehnsucht Ziel.
O wunderbare Erde,
du birgst des Glückes viel!
