Fernes
Language: German (Deutsch)
Ferne Wolken seh' ich ziehen,
goldgesäumt vom Abendrot,
und der Tag im letzten Glühen
stirbt den süßen Flammentod.
In den Trauerschleier
hüllt sich still die Erde ein;
sieh', schon wallt er freier
über Flur und Hain!

Ferne Töne hör' ich klingen,
die wie Geisterstimmen zieh'n;
auf der Abendlüfte Schwingen
kommen leise Melodien,
zittern und verschweben,
grüßen kaum mein lauschend Ohr,
rufen in das Leben
weichen Schmerz hervor.

Ferne Liebe grüß' ich sehnend,
ein verklärtes Frauenbild,
und die Wimper zuckt mir tränend,
und die Perle träufelt mild.
Ach, die ich gegrüßet,
trennet von mir weites Land,
und die Träne fließet
spurlos in den Sand.

Confirmed with Gedichte von Ludwig Storch, Leipzig, 1854.
